Solid Insulated RMU

Configured & Engineered Starters

A complete range of flameproof and non-flameproof starters and control panels.
We have the ability to supply the design; engineering and commissioning required, ensuring correct and safe operation.
Main drive starters, like most of our equipment, are “custom built” to suit the specific requirements regarding physical size, mounting and whether fixed or skid mounted, drip proof or weatherproof.
Units have been supplied to many Australian collieries as well as quarries (crushing plants), industrial plants, grinding mills, fans and centrifuges.

Hazardous Area DCB -
Distribution Control Box
(IECEx, Exd)         

The NEPEAN Power flameproof Load Centre/ Distribution Control Box (DCB) is manufactured to the highest quality standards and can be adapted in design to incorporate individual specifications.

NEPEAN Power understand the importance of design safety and plant reliability, especially in the mine environment and as such NEPEAN Power is certified to AS 60079 or IECEx series of standards for the manufacture of equipment for explosive atmospheres.
The NEPEAN Power DCB is manufactured to include several basic designs and sizes and can accommodate a number of combinations including up to 11, 1000V outlets.
The DCB enclosure can be constructed using stainless steel flanges or can be completely produced with stainless steel. The unit can also be supplied on a galvanized metal skid base for ease of transportation around the worksite.

Longwall Electrical Systems

NEPEAN Power offers complete engineer designed equipment for a complete longwall system ranging from IP 56/flameproof transformers, flameproof distribution control boxes to control and monitoring enclosures that are certified and compliant to all relevant standards.
The NEPEAN Power flameproof longwall DCB is available in various combinations with up to 8 outlets at 3.3kV. The equipment is designed and manufactured with an emphasis on safety, reliability and accessibility for normal maintenance.

Features

•A high tension custom built enclosure incorporating the 11kV. The design is type tested to IP56 as per the requirements of AS60529:2004 and type tested for arc fault containment to AS62271.200
•The main transformer is rated for an incoming voltage of 11000V, 3 phase 50Hz and will be configured to provide a secondary voltage of 3300V up to 7.5MVA
•The 3.3kV supply compartments are fully welded construction type tested to IP56 as per the requirements of AS60529:2004. The enclosure is a multi-compartment segregated distribution board incorporating outlets and is configured to meet the requirements of AS4871.2012. For ease of movement around the site the custom manufactured skid can be mounted on a motorised track.

NEPEAN Power’s switchgear is fully tested prior to delivery to our client’s worksite. NEPEAN Power’s testing facilities ensure the finished product is safe and fully compliant with the Australian and Mining Standards.

NEPEAN Power’s switchgear enclosures are manufactured from stainless steel (or mild steel on request) and incorporates viewing windows for ease of physical monitoring.
The switchgear is manufactured to include a heavy duty galvanised skid base that grants to user ease of movement.

UG Mining Substations

NEPEAN Power’s substations are customised to suit the individual requirements of our customers. The adaptation of our products is achieved through the use of the latest technology in SCADA control and the extensive experience of NEPEAN Power’s Engineers.
Available in various combinations of input, output and size, NEPEAN Power’s Substations can be configured to suit most situations dependant on our customers requirements. Mining substations are typically used for longwall, development, distribution and pumping applications. Our substations can be manufactured in either flameproof and or ingress protected (IP66)
variations.

Typical Designs
Underground mining substations can be manufactured up to 7.5MVA with primary voltages as high as 22kV.v

Prefabricated Switchrooms

Our custom switchrooms are designed and built to be functional, durable and low in maintenance. Special attention is given to the ease of installation after delivery to site. In addition, the switchrooms are built to comply with the relevant building codes and standards.

Advantages

•All electrical/mechanical equipment is factory fitted, connected and fully tested prior to despatch. This greatly reduces on-site installation and commissioning costs.
•All components for the switchroom installation are provided (i.e. stairways, landings, handrails, kickplates and stumps). This greatly reduces on-site construction costs.
